Fall back in love with your wardrobe

As a Personal Stylist I help you fall back in love with your wardrobemake the most of what you already have and shop with more intention.

Shopping with intention saves you energy, time and money as you’re making the most of what you already have whilst introducing new pieces to elevate existing pieces so you can dress more effortlessly.

So how?

You START 'shopping your own wardrobe' ... the problem isn’t that you have nothing to wear but having nothing 'new' to wear and a shopping spree in your own wardrobe might well be the tonic!

So, if you are feeling disillusioned with your wardrobe ...

once a week …

set a date with your wardrobe …

 set a 30-minute timer …

(optional – grab your favourite drink, light a candle, music on)

 do these 5 things ...

 1) Pick a lifestyle category you would like to focus on (Casual, Work, Going Out etc)

2) Separate out into 3 piles

  • your favourite pieces to wear (what you love)

  • pieces you wear all the time (wear on repeat)

  • pieces you rarely wear but would like to wear more (don't know how to wear)

3) Play dress-up (the fun part with no rules) ... explore and experiment, mixing and matching the pieces from the 3 different piles channelling your style personality

 ask yourself 3 questions ...

  • 'Do I feel good in it?'

  • ‘Do I look good in it?'

  • 'Does it feel like me?' (most importantly)

if the answer is yes to all 3 and you find a look you love ...

4) Photograph your outfit in a full-length mirror and add to a new album on your phone titled 'outfits' (you can give them specific lifestyle categories titles such as 'Casual', 'Work', 'Going out' etc ... keep simple)

(optional - if you can, wear 1 new outfit combination immediately as you feel inspired and will be more inclined to shop your own wardrobe again)

5) When choosing the occasion, you're looking to get dressed for refer to your 'outfits' album on your phone and choose an appropriate outfit (optional - in a journal, write down why you chose, like the outfit and how it made you feel - if it made you feel really good, heart the photo)

Try to rotate wearing the outfits in your album so that you are wearing as much as you can from your wardrobe, if you keep skipping outfits you may need to revisit / tweak the combination, or you're missing a particular piece, or it might be time to find a new home.

In one month’s time review your photos and journal ... you will learn so much about yourself and your wardrobe!

Try it!

Tackle one lifestyle category.
