Do We Really Need a September Reset?

September seems to arrive with a lot of pressure attached to it.

Suddenly … we’re told it’s time for a fresh start - New routines. New goals. A new season. And, of course … a new wardrobe.

But do we really need a September reset?

I’m not convinced we do.

There’s something slightly strange about the idea that every September we should reinvent ourselves – as though we’ve spent the summer being one version of ourselves and now … because the leaves are beginning to change … we should emerge as a more polished, organised and put-together version.

What if … instead of trying to become someone new this autumn … you simply paid attention to who you are now?

Because your life may have changed. Your priorities may have changed. Your body may have changed. Your work, your routines, your confidence – even your taste … may have shifted.

And sometimes, your wardrobe just hasn’t caught up.

So rather than asking “What do I need to buy for autumn?” - perhaps a more useful question is:

“How do I want to feel in my clothes this season?”

More confident? More comfortable? More feminine? More polished? More relaxed? More like yourself?

This question changes everything.

Because personal style isn't really about having the right list of autumn essentials. It’s about creating a wardrobe that supports the woman you are and the life you're actually living.

Perhaps that means rediscovering pieces you already own. Perhaps it means finally getting those trousers tailored. Perhaps you need a great jacket that makes everything underneath feel more pulled together.

Or maybe there are clothes in your wardrobe that belonged to a previous version of you and it’s time to let them go.

September can still be a reset … if you want it to be.

But perhaps it doesn't need to be a dramatic one.

Think of it more as a style check-in. A chance to pause, edit and make a few thoughtful changes so that when you open your wardrobe each morning … it feels like it belongs to you now.

So … rather than rushing out to buy a whole new autumn wardrobe - start by asking yourself how you want to feel.

And if you're not sure how to translate that feeling into your clothes …

That's where I can help and we can create a wardrobe that feels like you – now.
